Eberechi Eze is on the verge of joining Arsenal after the north London club reached a verbal agreement with Crystal Palace for a deal worth up to £67.5 million.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the agreement includes a £60 million guaranteed fee and £7.5 million in performance-based add-ons.
Tottenham Hotspur, long considered front-runners in the race for the 26-year-old attacker, have been left disappointed. Sources say Arsenal accelerated negotiations following an injury to Kai Havertz, forcing them to strengthen their attacking options swiftly.
Eze’s preference to join Arsenal’s project reportedly tipped the balance. Despite Spurs believing they were close to a deal with both Palace and the player, Arsenal’s late push secured the advantage.
The medical is scheduled for Friday, shortly after Eze features in tonight’s match for Crystal Palace. Personal terms are expected to be finalized without issue, as discussions are already advanced.
